In the Valley of Gold, Jim Thorpe, PA

The fall foliage in the Delaware River Valley is stunning, and after living here for more than 20 years, we can attest to the fact that, year after year, it never ceases to amaze, stun, and wow. The vivid colors, are like nature’s fire works; truly a site to behold. One great way to enjoy the fall foliage, is to take a road trip. There are so many beautiful mountain towns here, each one with its own signature, magic, and beauty. Jim Thorp, Pennsylvania, is one such town. Named after the famed Native American, Olympic Gold medalist, national football treasure, major league baseball star, and basketball legend, Jim Thorpe was truly one of the greatest athletes in American history, and perhaps to have ever lived. With a host of wonderful restaurants, shops, a scenic railway through the mountains, and an avid outdoor community, you’ll be sure to make some unforgettable memories. Also a stop on the D&L, a 140 mile bike trail running from Wilkes Barr, Pennsylvania to Philadelphia, you can explore caves, and beautiful remote wild trails. Jim Thorpe has excellent fishing, and you can learn about the towns history through visiting the estate of former railroad tycoon Asa Packer, Old Jail museum, taking a ghost tour of the city, and more.
